Blackjack Etiquette

If you have ever stepped foot in a casino in Las Vegas and seen players sat around the Blackjack table you will no doubt have seen a very diverse cross section of the community, and this is what makes playing Blackjack so much fun, you never know who you are going to meet as your fellow players.

But as with most things in life there is both good and bad and people playing Blackjack are no different to this rule, so we thought we would put together a section dedicated to Blackjack etiquette!

By following a few basic rules of Blackjack etiquette you will stand out as the type of player others wish they had sat with them on their Blackjack table, and who knows you may even get to play with fellow players as lovely as yourself!

Blackjack Etiquette - Dealers

Of course you will meet some Dealers who look as miserable as sin, but this doesn’t mean you have to be, and if a Dealer is really doing your head in then move to another table as you don’t want to end up as miserable as him or her!

Blackjack Etiquette - Know it Alls

Always remember that a Dealer is there to do a job, and just like you or I we like to have a little fun when in the workplace, so always be polite to your Dealer, smile and maybe engage them in a little light hearted banter.

Never comment on another Players betting moves, if he or she is making some horrendous decisions then that is a matter for them, never give them hints or tips as often it will go in one ear and out of the other!

Some players also take offence at other people telling them what move to make or telling them they should of Stood a hand when they Hit it etc, so the best policy is to keep your mouth closed, a fool and his money is soon parted so leave them to it!

Blackjack Etiquette - Comps

If you have been having either a good or bad session and have been playing for quite a while and fancy a snack to eat or even a meal then have a word with the Pit Boss, as often he can instantly give you a free meal comp.

You then simply visit the casinos’ buffet or restaurant order your meal and the house with pick up the bill! So never be afraid to ask for comps or freebies.

Blackjack Etiquette - Free Drinks

Most casinos will serve you free drinks on the house, simply give the cocktail waitress a wave and she will sort this out for you, if you cannot see the cocktail waitress then have a word with the Pit Boss and he or she will make sure one pops over to see you.

Always tip the cocktail waitresses as they are providing a service and it always ensures they keep you stocked up with drinks and they will never forget to visit you every now and then to make sure you are not going thirsty!
