The OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp), has stated that it has won the accolade for the Best Overall Responsible Gambling Program 2018 by the WLA (World Lottery Association). The agency released an official Press Release to detail the new prize that it earned. It showcased that the award recognized the impact of its new responsible gambling program, Play Smart. That new program was a part of the World Lottery Summit last November in Argentina in Buenos Aires.
The CEO and President of the OLG, Stephan Rigby, has stated that this is the second time the Ontario Company managed to bag the coveted WLA award. The first time it bagged the award was in 2014. Stephan Rigby also explained that the prize is only once every two years to a level four gaming operators that have been continually demonstrating high standards of excellence in responsible gambling.
His statement also made clear that there is a straightforward vision that drives the responsible gambling program of the OLG. The concept is to be able to provide a positive and healthy iGaming experience to all of its players. He added that they have a responsibility towards the employees as well as the customers, in addition to the community partners. The responsibility includes providing the most effective programs that promote positive and safe play, as well as mitigating the risks of bad gambling. The OLG also declared that it is committed to improvement, which is evident by the fact that it is the only lottery and gaming corporation to win the WLA award two times.
